Angelina Jolie may play a double-agent in Salt, her new spy thriller opening next week, but when it comes to her relationship with Brad Pitt, the screen star is entirely single-minded.

“The children certainly tie us together, but a relationship won’t hold if it’s only about the kids,” Jolie – whose household includes her and Pitt’s six children – tells Parade magazine for its issue out Sunday. “You also must be really interested in each other and have a really, really wonderful, exciting time together. We do. Brad and I love being together. We enjoy it. We need it, and we always find that special time. We stay connected. We talk about it. It’s very important.”

For the sake of the family unit, she says, “If Brad and I are strong and happy, then our kids have happy parents, and that’s the best thing we can give them … Brad knows me completely, exactly as I am, every part of me. He loves me. The kids love me. They know all my flaws and all my oddities. And they accept them. And so I can feel complete.”

Certainly, there are domestic duties to share. “He takes the kids to school; he visits me on set with the kids. I’m home for dinner, or I’m there for breakfast. We’re together all the time. We plan. Brad and I take time off between films to travel, have big experiences, do things together. That’s how we work it out,” she says.

“There’s never a period when Brad and I are pulled apart. We are not separated for more than three days, ever. We stay really connected. We actually don’t go out much. It’s funny. We’re very homebound. We’re very much Mommy and Daddy in our pajamas.”

Given all she has, Jolie, 35, expresses total happiness. “I feel sad for someone who has never known love. Love elevates,” she says. “You know, Brad would joke about me having this conversation about love. Love? It’s such a funny word. Brad can find certain phrases of poetry for it. I’m terrible at it. But I know it means wanting the best for the people you love, putting their interests above your own, always. Love does that. Love is what you live for.”

Granted, Jolie didn’t always come across as so serene. Of her rebellious past, she says, “I used to cut myself or jump out of airplanes, trying to find something new to push up against because sometimes everything else felt too easy. I was searching for something deeper, something more. I tried everything. I always felt caged, closed in, like I was punching at things that weren’t there. I always had too much energy for the room I was in.”

Actor/ possible US Presidential nominee Brad Pitt has joined the board of directors for the U.S. bid to get the world’s largest sporting event, The FIFA World Cup, in either 2018/2022.

He’s not the only big name on the committee, which already includes Spike Lee, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Oscar De La Hoya, American soccer players Landon Donovan and Mia Hamm and honorary chairman Bill Clinton.

Said Pitt: “Soccer is a truly global sport and the opportunity to join the effort to have the U.S. host the world’s greatest sporting event again is a great honor. FIFA has set a world standard for using sport as a tool for positive social change and I’m proud to be associated with a United States World Cup Bid that has so ardently adhered to the principles established by FIFA.”

Brad Pitt and Darren Aronofsky are working on new adventure thriller ‘The Tiger’.

The movie – based on a non-fiction book yet to be released by John Vaillant – has been optioned by Focus Features, with Brad potentially taking a leading role.

The story – which is being scripted by Guillermo Arriaga – tells the tale of human developers in Siberia who are tracked and hunted by an “almost” supernaturally-powerful tiger, Variety reports.

Guillermo said: “This is the first time I have adapted a screenplay, since I have previously only written original screenplays.

“I chose to adapt this story, first, because I have a profound love for the outdoors and the intense tension between man and nature which the book reflects; and, second, because of the great privilege of working with such accomplished filmmakers as Darren Aronofsky, Brad Pitt, and James Schamus.”

Guillermo and Brad previously worked together on drama movie ‘Babel’ and both dropped out of ‘The Fighter’ – which now stars Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg.

The novel ‘The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival’ is due for publication in August.

Emmys and Oscars, move over: Today’s celebs are raking in the Internet accolades as well. Brad Pitt and Jim Carrey lead a veritable who’s who of Hollywood favorites at this year’s Webby Awards, hosted by B.J. Novak of NBC’s The Office.

Pitt’s big win is in the activism category for his Make It Right foundation, which he launched in 2007 to help rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Carrey garnered both a Webby and a people’s voice award for his visually stunning official fan site that boldly showcases his unique creativity and trippy humor.

Recognizing achievements in more than 70 categories, including Web sites, online videos and films, blogs and other segments of digital culture, the 14th annual Webbys are considered the Oscars of the online world

While academy judges like Martha Stewart and David Bowie decide the winners in the Webby categories, people around the world also have a say in the voting.

Other honorees include movie critic Roger Ebert for his wildly popular blog, Roger Ebert’s Journal, Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert for Colbert Nation and actress Isabella Rosselini for her quirky short-film series, Green Porno, about animal attraction.

A complete list of winners is online.
